Alan G. Moravcik

Alan attended the University of Texas at Austin on an athletic scholarship.  He majored in accounting and spent a year after graduation as an auditor and tax specialist for a Big Eight accounting firm.  Then he entered the School of Law at the University of Texas at Austin.  Finishing law school in just 27 months, he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in December of 1972.  He scored in the top ten among all applicants on the Texas Bar Exam for which he sat and was licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas on April 16, 1973.

Alan spent the first nine years of his legal practice in Austin working for several law firms. His practice was primarily related to corporations, partnerships, estate planning, business transactions and real estate. In August of 1981, he moved to Midland, Texas and joined the law firm of Stubbeman, McRae, Sealy, Laughlin and Browder, Inc. as a shareholder.  He continued with that firm until the spring of 1985 when he resigned to begin his own law practice. He has been a sole practitioner in the Law Offices of Alan G. Moravcik since then.

Since 1985, Alan’s practice has emphasized family law, including divorce and child custody, civil litigation, personal injury, business litigation and transactions, corporations, partnerships, estate planning, probate, and real estate.  Alan is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Midland County Bar Association. He is a past member of the Travis County Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Alan has been a participant in the Advanced Family Law Seminar offered by the State Bar of Texas each year since 1997.

On a personal note, Alan is the proud father of three children; Maddie, Blake and Jake, and three grandchildren; Taylor, Macie and Alex. His involvement in civic affairs has included the West Austin Little League, The West Austin Optimist, and Youth Sports in Midland. He has served as the Vice-Chairman and Chairman, and is currently a Board Member, of the Midland County Housing Authority and Hellinghausen Hope, Inc., a Texas Non-Profit Corporation.  Alan has also served as a legal counsel for the Midland Apartment Association and is past chairman of the Social Justice Committee of St. Ann’s Parish in Midland, Texas.  Alan is a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was an officer of Council 3071, Knights of Columbus.  Alan also served as chairman of the Hamburger Booth at the locally famous St. Ann’s Fair for eight years. He also served on the Parish Council at St. Ann’s Church. Alan is the recipient of the “Friend of Youth Award” which was awarded by the West Austin Optimist Club.

Office Manager

Cathie Moravcik

Cathie is Alan’s wife of 26 years. She has managed the law office for 20+ years.  She and Alan have three children and three grandchildren.


Doris Barger

Doris has been a part of the Law Offices of Alan G. Moravcik since 2011. Prior to joining the office, she was an administrative assistant at Culberson County Hospital. Doris graduated in 2012 from Midland College with an Associate’s Degree in the paralegal program. Doris has a brilliant legal mind and is compassionate and caring toward our clients. Doris is a skilled and respected member of the team and we are blessed by her and consider her a member of our family.

Anna Busick

Anna first joined the Law Office of Alan G. Moravcik in 1999. Anna enjoys the love and respect of the Moravcik family and is considered a member of our family. She is especially appreciated by our clients who know their cases are her priority. Anna has an absolute uncanny recall and an almost photographic memory. She is brilliantly gifted in family law. The Law Office of Alan G. Moravcik is blessed to have her as a member of our team.


Business Manager

Don Collins

Don is Cathie’s father. Prior to coming to work with the law office, he owned and operated Collins’ Oil, Chevron Truck Stop and Restaurant and Ford Motor Company in Van Horn Texas. He and his wife Robbye relocated to Midland in order to spend more time with their children and grandchildren.

Don is a valuable contributor to the efforts of the office in serving its clients.
