Alan Moravcik, Attorney at Law
Alan attended the University of Texas at Austin on an athletic scholarship. He majored in accounting and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Subsequent to graduation, he worked for a Big Eight accounting firm for one year as an auditor and tax specialist prior to entering law school at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.
Upon completing the curriculum offered by the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in twenty-seven months, he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence in December of 1972.
Thereafter, he sat for the bar exam offered by the Supreme Court of the State of Texas scoring in the top ten of the individuals taking the bar exam at that time and was licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas on April 16, 1973.
Alan spent the first nine years of his law practice in Austin, Texas working for several law firms. His practice was primarily related to corporate, partnerships, estate planning, business transactions and real estate. In August 1981, he moved to Midland, Texas and joined the law firm of Stubbeman, McRae, Sealy, Laughlin and Browder, Inc. as a shareholder. He continued his practice with that law firm until the spring of 1985 when he resigned to begin his own law practice. He has practiced as a sole practitioner in the Law Offices of Alan G. Moravcik since that time.
Since 1985, Alan’s practice has emphasized family law, including divorce and child custody, civil litigation, personal injury, business litigation and transactions, corporate, partnerships, estate planning, probate, and real estate.
Alan is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Midland County Bar Association. He is a past member of the Travis County Bar Association. Alan is a current member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He has been a participant in the Advanced Family Law Seminar offered by the State Bar of Texas for each year beginning 1997 through the year 2008.
In the past, Alan has been active in civic affairs including the West Austin Little League, The West Austin Optimist, and Youth Sports in Midland, Texas. He has served as the Vice-Chairman and Chairman, and is currently serving as a Board Member, of the Midland County Housing Authority and Hellinghausen Hope, Inc., a Texas Non-Profit Corporation.
Board Certification is not necessary or required. Not Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Alan has also served as past legal counsel for the Midland Apartment Association, and past chairman of the Social Justice Committee of St. Ann’s Parish in Midland, Texas. Alan is a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and is an officer of Council 3071, Knights of Columbus. Alan also serves as chairman of the Hamburger Booth at the locally famous St. Ann’s Fair.
Anna Busick, Legal Assistant
Anna has over four years of experience in the legal field. Anna began working for the Law Offices of Alan G. Moravcik in 1999 until 2001. In 2008, Anna returned to the Law Offices of Alan G. Moravcik to continue her career in the legal field. Anna plans to further her career by obtaining her certification as a Certified Paralegal.
